Faithful PE [32×32] [64×64]

Do you like the default textures in Minecraft but wish it existed as the double resolution? If that’s the case then the Faithful PE texture pack is the perfect solution. It keeps the original look of Minecraft but the resolution is two times better (32×32 instead of 16×16 pixels) which makes the graphics look a lot better. This texture pack has long existed for the PC version of Minecraft and today you are able to download it for Minecraft Pocket Edition as well.

NoteRealistic Sound Pack

The main purpose of NoteRealistic is to bring more realistic sounds to Minecraft. At this point it supports most of the sounds which are related to the terrain (e.g. swimming and weather) but sounds for mobs are still a work in progress. The idea is certainly great but in my opinion I think it can be better fine-tuned. Some sounds like the walking steps too noisy. But for a first release it’s definitely pretty good!

PC GUI Pack

The PC GUI Pack changes the graphical user interface, block textures and sounds to be more like the PC version of Minecraft. It’s the most comprehensive pack currently available of its kind and it’s also regularly updated with more features. Give it a try and transform (to some extent at least) the way you experience Pocket Edition!

What have been changed?

The start screen has a new logo and the buttons have been redesigned. The Customize button opens the skin picker page.

SSPE Lightweight Shader

SSPE is a lightweight shader pack which is the perfect solution for anyone who have got a low-end device and haven’t been able to use any of the other shader packs. It’s a much more simple pack which still got some of the essential features (such as more realistic skies) to make Minecraft much more beautiful and faithfully realistic.

Plain Wool Colors Texture Pack

This is a simplistic texture pack which changes all of the wool and carpet blocks. The primary difference you’ll notice is that the textures look much more clean and less pixelated. It’s perfect for anyone who want to use the wool and carpet blocks but need more gentle textures which don’t stand out too much.

Mini City Texture Pack [16×16]

Mini City is a fun texture pack which lets you build miniature cities in Minecraft Pocket Edition. The building blocks and items have been replaced by constructions blocks which look like skyscrapers, office buildings, swimming pools and much more. Use these blocks to create your own mini city!

Arabic Translation Resource Pack

This resource pack adds an Arabic translation for most texts in Minecraft Pocket Edition. Keep in mind that I cannot confirm the accuracy of the translation since I don’t speak/write Arabic. It would therefore be nice to get some feedback from users who know the language.

How to activate the Arabic translation?

First off you need to download the translation and install it (instructions can be found further down on this page). But you’re not done yet. Go to the Language Settings and scroll down to the bottom of the list to find the Arabic language (as seen in the image down below).

As soon as you’ve enabled the translation you will notice most of the text is using the Arabic translation.

The translation appears to work for everything and that includes items and blocks in a world.

Installation

  1. Download Resource .McPack
  2. Open Minecraft PE
  3. Settings > Global Resources > Activate pack
  4. Open the Language Settings and select the Arabic language

Jolicraft [16×16]

Jolicraft is a cute and earthy texture pack which is one of the oldest and most popular texture packs for Minecraft. The design of the textures is very detailed but at the same time quite simple. The textures look really nice for normal survival worlds as well as medieval and modern builds. It’s an all-around texture pack which works for many needs.

Energy Shaders (W10/iOS/Android!)

Energy Shaders is one of the first shader packs to offer support for Windows 10 (Minecraft: Windows 10 Edition), iOS and Android (Minecraft Pocket Edition). The most noticeable differences are for the water, skies and lighting. The combined result is astonishing as it makes the world look a bit more realistic but primarily just a more beautiful world to experience.

Minecraft Font Pack

The Minecraft Font Addon brings back the thick font that is used in Minecraft for Cyrillic and other languages which uses special characters. This means that if you are writing in English you won’t really notice any difference. It’s very useful nonetheless since it makes the text much more clear and easy to read for certain languages.

Comparisons

You will notice differences for signs, start screen, text chat or anywhere else that there is Cyrillic text (or other special characters) displayed.

Default:

Resource Pack Enabled: The difference should be obvious to most eyes. The Russian text is much thicker than before. I can’t say that I notice any difference for any of the other languages (Korean and Chinese). But by looking at the files I did see that there are more languages than Russian which have been thickened.

  4. Restart Minecraft PE!

Adventure Time Craft [32×32]

Adventure Time Craft is a texture pack based on the popular animated TV series Adventure Time. As expected, the textures are fun, colorful and cartoon themed. The texture pack looks the best in medieval worlds and in the normal world of Minecraft. If you are looking for a way to simply add more fun to the game, then this pack does a good job of doing that.

The Element Animation Villager Sounds Resource Pack

I can’t remember the last time I laughed so hard as when I tested this sound pack. It was originally created by Element Animations for the PC version of Minecraft, and as of today, parts of it have been ported to Pocket Edition. Everything sounds as if it was recorded by a caveman but that’s what makes it funny. If you are easily amused then you will most definitely find it just as hilarious as I did.

SimpleJCraft [16×16]

This texture pack combines simplistic textures with a cartoony art style which looks quite refreshing. If you’ve been a long-term user of the default textures then you will most likely find the transition to SimpleJCraft welcoming and not too overwhelming. It’s basically just simple and more clean version of the default design.

Beyond the Lands [16×16]

Beyond the Lands is a medieval and fantasy based texture pack with some realism. One importance of the pack is to try to stay faithful to the original Minecraft textures, while adding a new style of design to the game. In my opinion, it’s really one of the better packs currently available for Minecraft Pocket Edition.

Whiteout Shader

Whiteout isn’t really the typical shader since it doesn’t add any jaw-dropping graphics to the game. Instead, it turns all of the blocks in Minecraft into grayscale and the result is a very unique and Sin City-like environment. It could also be useful for spotting players or mobs more easily since it removes most of the noise in-game (meaning, colors and textures).

Outlined GUI Resource Pack

This texture pack makes most of the graphical user interface (GUI) transparent with dark outlines. It’s a very good pack if you are looking for something simplistic which doesn’t stand out as much as the original GUI. Some drawbacks are the hunger and health bar and also some buttons in menus which are difficult to read.

SimplySharp Texture Pack [64×64]

SimplySharp is a funny, simplistic and cartoon styled texture pack. It’s a great improvement from the original textures and especially so if you want something unique and playful. It doesn’t seem limited to just one type of build. I tested it for multiple different worlds and it looked nice for both medieval worlds and ones built with modern architecture.

Only Upwards Shader

Only Upwards is the ultimate shader to use if you find the game just too easy or for some (weird) reason want to induce seasickness. The entire world around you will look as if it is sloped – but it’s not. It’s just an optical illusion caused by the shader. If you don’t think the shader is enough then try adding a nausea effect to the mix!
